So, why are we here exactly?

If you’ve landed on this page, I can safely assume the following:

  1. Someone very kind has suggested I could help you in some sort of creative fashion.

  2. I’ve reached out to you with a resume, portfolio, or similar professionalized cry for help, and you are kind enough to have dug in a bit deeper.

  3. You’ve somehow become aware of my existence through other means and, like many of my close friends and family, have a morbid curiosity to try and answer the existential question: “What exactly DOES he do?”

For the record, all three are valid and very much welcome.

Rather than simply restate my resume or portfolio (because those exist in very close proximity to where you are..), I’d simply like to discuss the why…

Storytelling is our most significant opportunity to connect to a human experience more extensive than our own.

Simply put, stories are engines of empathy.

I’ve lived what feels like a thousand lives due to the fantastic pieces of work I’ve had the chance to participate in for almost two decades.

Icelandic pixies. NFL MVPs. Nigerian skaters. Professional wrestlers. Soap opera starlets.

The beauty and breadth of these narratives have shown up in many forms, from small social pieces to fairly lengthy documentaries or full-blown brand campaigns, but regardless of shape or size, they’ve all left their mark on me and fueled my drive to find the next one.

So, whether you need help for the next month, year, or decade, if there is a tale worth telling, I’d love to be a part of it.

As an aside, this continues to be my favorite quote from Walden.

If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them.”
― Henry David Thoreau
